2011 Commonwealth Karate Championships

Australiais hosting the 2011 Commonwealth Karate Championships in Sydney on July 30 and 31. This looks to be agreat tournament, which has already attracted a number of international teamsincluding Canada, Scotland, South Africa, New Zealand and India, just to name afew. South Africahas informed us that they have selected 180 competitors!

 

Athletes can participate in one of thefollowing ways:

a)      As an AKF National TeamMember – AKF will announce this team in the near future. Places will be limited to 4 people per category.Competing as a National Team Member has the added benefit of a reducedtournament entry fee.

OR

b)      As an Open Club Competitor– by having your Head of Style enter you via their club login on SET Online

 

Entering this event as an open clubcompetitor is a unique and rare opportunity for Australian competitors tocompete at this level. The AKF encourages Australian athletes to compete andgain valuable tournament experience and have the opportunity to compete againstsome of the best athletes in the world!

 

NATIONALSQUAD MEMBERS are reminded to take NO ACTION until the AKF National Teamcompeting at the 2011 Commonwealth Championships had been announced.
